How we check every figure

Every figure on Tarjih comes from the issuing bank's own website: the card's product page, its Key Facts Statement, or the bank's schedule of charges. We do not use other comparison sites or blogs as a source.

Checked twice

A first researcher recorded each figure from the bank's pages. An independent checker then reopened every source and compared every number. Where they differed, we corrected the figure from the source. Where two official documents from the same bank disagree, we show both figures and name the conflict instead of picking one.

What we don't know

If a bank does not publish a figure, or blocks its documents from being read, the page says "Not published". We never fill a gap with an estimate.

VAT

Card annual fees carry VAT where it exists: 5% in the UAE and Oman, 10% in Bahrain, 15% in Saudi Arabia, none in Qatar and Kuwait. We show fees including VAT. If a bank publishes the fee before VAT we add it; if the bank does not say, we mark the fee "VAT not stated".

Rates in Saudi Arabia

SAMA requires Saudi banks to publish an annual percentage rate (APR) for each card. The APR includes fees, so it is the main cost figure we show for Saudi cards. UAE banks publish a monthly rate, which we show as published. Most Saudi banks do not publish a minimum salary, so we leave it blank.

Order

Every list is sorted by one figure named at the top of it, such as lowest annual fee. No commercial arrangement changes the order.

Updates

Fees and offers change often. We re-check on a schedule, and every page shows the date of its last check.
