# Tarjih (ترجيح)

> Independent comparison of credit cards across the Gulf: UAE 174 cards from 14 banks; Saudi Arabia 119 cards from 13 banks; Qatar 62 cards from 9 banks; Kuwait 73 cards from 9 banks; Bahrain 38 cards from 9 banks; Oman 57 cards from 7 banks. Every figure was read on the issuing bank's own website, then re-checked by an independent checker. Annual fees include VAT where it applies (5% UAE and Oman, 10% Bahrain, 15% Saudi Arabia, none in Qatar and Kuwait). Rates are shown as each country's banks publish them: monthly in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman; APR or annual rate in Saudi Arabia (SAMA disclosure) and Kuwait. Last checked 2026-09-27. Where a bank does not publish a figure, Tarjih leaves it blank. Lists are sorted by a stated figure, never by commission. Site is in English and Arabic (/ar); country pages are /ae, /sa, /qa, /kw, /bh and /om, with Arabic at /ae/ar and so on. Run by Lineage Technologies, Dubai.

This is Article 7 of Central Bank Regulation 29/2011, and it applies to UAE nationals and expats alike.

UAE banks advertising a flat rate must show the effective rate next to it. Personal loans are capped at 20 times monthly salary and 48 months.
